Marianna joined Involve in October 2023 as a Project and Communications Officer.
Prior to joining Involve, Marianna studied for a degree in visual communications in Technological University Dublin. Her undergraduate work focused on user-experiences, projects surrounding addressing bias in debates and the formation of personal and visual identities within societal constructs. She worked in various design studios in Dublin until moving to Belfast in 2021 to work in interpretation design. The term 'interpretation design' covers many skill sets and definitions. However, Marianna's focus was telling the stories of places and the people who shaped them. She ran workshops on interpretation design thinking as a freelance practitioner. In 2022, she completed her masters degree in writing.
Her interest has always been on people and communities. During lockdown, she created an online exhibition to combat the feeling of loneliness experienced by world events. She put out a call, asking the public to share pictures and stories of their important memorabilia. People from all around the world participated by sharing stories of their cherished objects, allowing them to connect to others and feel seen, heard and valued.
Outside of Involve, Marianna is often seen in art and design events. She has volunteered at various street art festivals and has a fondness for any other initiatives that could make the quality of life for everyone, everyday, better.
