Myth: People won't think about the common interest...

Busted: Underestimating the public's problem-solving prowess is a big mistake. When people come together we see them respect each other’s different lived experience and consider the evidence thoughtfully. Citizens’ Assemblies tend to recommend more balanced, measured ideas than the often polarised, back and forth arguments we see elsewhere in our politics and public sphere.  When trusted to make a contribution, all of us rise to the responsibility of finding common ground.
