Today (16th December 2021) the Scottish Government have published their response to the recommendations made by the members of Scotland's Climate Assembly.
To the Assembly members – thank you. I hope you are encouraged to see that the Scottish Government’s climate action is strongly aligned with the recommendations. You have been part of something truly historic which will guide the future of our country. Through a tremendous amount of hard work you have demonstrated what can be achieved when people from across Scotland come together to learn, discuss and deliberate on the challenges that face us as we tackle the climate emergency. You have set an example that we, as a nation, must follow
Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP First Minister of Scotland
Since the report was published, assembly members have been receiving training on dealing with the media and fact checking, meeting with Scottish Ministers to discuss their recommendations and have attended events at COP26.
They have also been getting ready to reconvene.
Weekend 8 of Scotland's Climate Assembly, an innovative opportunity for assembly members to decide what they think about how the Government have responded to their recommendations, will take place from 4th - 6th February 2022.
Look out for updates from assembly members as they get ready to meet again.
