Sarah is an internationally recognised specialist in public participation in decision-making, with a decade of experience in designing, delivering and supporting a wide range of public engagement methods. She became Director of Climate Programmes at Involve in September 2023 and has worked with us in senior roles since 2014.
Sarah’s work on climate change ranges from leading Climate Assembly UK for six select committees of the House of Commons, to founding Involve’s Local Climate Engagement Programme for local authorities, to running hyper local engagement on a fair transition. She is the (co)author of research reports, policy papers and practical guides on a range of different aspects of climate change participation.
Beyond climate, Sarah’s work includes our youth-led programme on youth mental and emotional wellbeing (MH:2K), the Citizens’ Assembly on Social Care (UK Parliament), National Assembly for Wales Citizens’ Assembly (Senedd Cymru), and Citizens’ Assembly on Brexit. She has also authored guidance and training on how parliamentary committees can better engage the public in their work.
Sarah is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Constitution Unit, University College London, and an Associate Member of the University of Leeds' Centre for Democratic Engagement.
