Gary is the Involve Engagement Lead – Training, Capacity Building & Standards, with responsibility for the Involve training portfolio, training programmes and products, and oversight on all Involve training as part of client projects and programmes of work.
He worked previously as a Senior Associate with Involve (since 2020), designing and delivering public engagement and deliberative processes, including extensive work in the London Borough of Camden, designing and leading a Citizen’s Assembly on the evening and nighttime economy, and citizen’s panels on climate, data charter, and housing and property services.
The thread that runs through Gary’s work is making connections between people, ideas, concepts, and theories. He is committed to raising awareness and building capacity, competence, and confidence in people through participative, inclusive, and engaging training and workshops.
Gary is a Certified Professional Facilitator | Master (CPF | M) under the International Association of Facilitators globally recognised certification scheme and a fellow of the RSA.
He is a past chair and European regional representative of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) and was also the IAF Director of Communications for two years.
He is on the advisory board for the Global Facilitators Serving Communities (GFSC) not-for-profit organisation.
Gary has worked in the UK, Europe, Middle East, North America, Canada, South Africa, Asia and Australia. He is a director and co-founder of circleindigo Limited, a facilitation consultancy, having started the company in 1999.
Outside of work, Gary enjoys music and buying vinyl (former DJ!), watching films, reading, walking, spending time with family and the dog, supporting his football team (season ticket holder!) and occasionally painting in watercolour.
