Paul became a trustee of Involve in 2021. He is Senior Regional Coordinator with the Open Government Partnership, supporting government and civil society reformers across Europe to deliver greater transparency, accountability and public participation.
Prior to joining OGP Paul was Head of Innovation & Voice with the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, leading their work on social and democratic Innovation, including supporting Northern Ireland's first citizens' assembly and participatory budgeting initiatives, as well as political commitments around open government and citizen participation. Before his return to Northern Ireland in 2011 Paul worked in international development, partnering with civil society groups in Africa, Asia and Latin America around participatory governance and human rights.
