David Gardiner

Senior Associate

With a background of 20+ years in youth and community work with some of the most disadvantaged young people from contested and conflicted Belfast communities, David is an experienced designer and facilitator of training and support for schools, teachers, youth workers and student teachers specialising in Anti-Bias in Education, diversity, inclusion and Integrated Education practice in Northern Ireland.

As a former CEO (youth charity) and international athlete (cyclist), David has a keen interest in supporting and enabling people – particularly from the most socially and economically disadvantaged circumstances – to development, achieve, lead and thrive.

As an associate facilitator with Involve UK since 2018, David has worked (both in-person and online) on projects such as the UK Climate Assembly, the Citizens’ Assembly of Scotland, the NI Citizens’ Assembly on social care for the elderly, Democracy in the UK and the UK People’s Assembly on Nature.
Alongside an attention to detail and a determination to identify and address to ‘what really matters’, genuine and authentic human engagement and a sprinkling of humour are important elements underscoring David’s design, facilitation and delivery.
