Becca joined as Parliamentary and Political Lead at Involve in November 2017 and is a member of the external affairs team.
She is a passionate advocate of the benefits of engaging with diverse communities, ensuring typically unheard voices are heard and responded to in decision-making. This interest has been applied through work, research and volunteering on a diverse range of subjects including technology, charity governance, access to health and social care, commissioning and public spaces.
Becca has a MA in Human Rights from the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, and a BSc in Politics with Economics from the University of Bath. During her MA she also worked and co-authored papers on a health engagement. She began her career in the Civil Service Fast Stream, before moving out to the Third Sector.
In her spare time, Becca co-directs the award-winning IC Change campaign, which calls on the UK government to ratify the Istanbul Convention on Violence Against Women. Although the campaign is run entirely by volunteers, it was able to create a coalition of over 50 organisations and successfully supported a law through the UK parliament in 2016-17. The campaign is continuing to build on this success.
